Cheries Dupee, M.S., tLMHC, is a compassionate and client-centered mental health therapist based in West Des Moines, Iowa. She is dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and groups through life’s emotional and psychological challenges using evidence-based therapeutic approaches. With a strong foundation in clinical mental health counseling, she is known for creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, develop insight, and work toward meaningful personal growth. Her clinical work reflects a deep commitment to mental wellness, resilience, and empowerment.

Cheries earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand View University in May 2025, graduating with high honors and a GPA of 3.935. During her graduate studies, she focused on diagnosis, treatment planning, group counseling, and counseling theories, strengthening her ability to assess and support diverse client needs. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services with a minor in Psychology from Grand View University, where she consistently earned Dean’s List recognition and was inducted into the Tau Upsilon Alpha National Organization for Human Services Honor Society.

In her professional practice, Cheries currently serves as a Mental Health Counselor at ForWard Consulting LLC, where she conducts intake assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and facilitates both individual and group counseling sessions. She integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing to address concerns including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relational difficulties. Her clinical documentation practices ensure ethical compliance and high-quality continuity of care for her clients.

Beyond her counseling role, Cheries has built extensive experience in education, mentorship, and community support. She has served as a mediator at Let’s Talk Now at McCombs Middle School, where she helped de-escalate conflicts and promote a safe learning environment. She also worked as a Graduate Assistant at Grand View University, supporting students with career development, resume writing, and professional preparation. In addition, she is the founder of Dupee Consulting Group LLC, where she provides life coaching, grant writing, and business planning services, contributing to client growth and sustainability.

Cheries is actively engaged in leadership, volunteerism, and ongoing professional development. She has participated as a mentor in the Drake University Business Accelerator Program, contributed as an independent writer for The Urban Experience Magazine, and served as Vice President of the Human Services Club at Grand View University. Her continued training includes certifications in psychological first aid, trauma-informed care, and abuse prevention. Through her diverse roles and commitment to lifelong learning, Cheries remains dedicated to advancing mental health awareness and making a positive impact in the lives of those she serves.
