Dr. Rebekah Hellier, PMHNP-BC, MSN
Rebekah Hellier, DNP, PMHNP-BC, MSN, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of City Psychiatry Inc. She has been practicing for 24 years, including 20 years at Tampa General Hospital, where she served in a variety of clinical roles and also precepted and mentored numerous clinicians. Following her tenure at Tampa General Hospital, she served as a contracted practitioner at OPA Behavioral Health in the role of Psychiatric Mental Health. Currently, she leads as the founder and owner of City Psychiatry Inc, where she is dedicated to delivering accessible, comprehensive, and compassionate mental health care. Her journey into healthcare began with an early interest in physical therapy. She attended Tampa Bay Technicial High School and worked as a physical therapy technician at Brandon Regional Hospital immediately after graduation. It was there that physical therapists encouraged her to pursue nursing, a path that ultimately shaped her career. She earned her Associate’s degree from Hillsborough Community College in 2003, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, and later advanced her education with a Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Alabama in 2022, followed by a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in May 2024 from the same institution. Through City Psychiatry Inc., Rebekah integrates her extensive clinical background with a holistic and collaborative approach to mental health care. She recognized a gap in the traditional separation between psychotherapy and psychiatric medication management and built her practice to bridge that divide. She provides both supportive talk therapy and medication management, emphasizing behavioral strategies and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term wellness. She works with patients ages 6 and older, with a clinical focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD, striving to ensure each patient receives coordinated, individualized, and continuity-driven care.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most is helping people. I have always wanted to be in the medical field ever since junior high school, and I love being able to make a difference in my patients' lives. My compassion and desire to help others is what drives me every day in my practice.
