Dr. William K. Tom, D.D.S., M.S., is a Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with more than three decades of clinical, academic, and research experience. As the principal and lead surgeon of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Inc., with offices in Ukiah and Healdsburg, California, he provides advanced surgical care in facial reconstruction, dental implants, and anesthesia. In addition to private practice, Dr. Tom serves as a Staff Physician at Healdsburg General Hospital and has previously held appointments at Children’s Hospital Oakland, California Pacific Presbyterian Hospital, and multiple medical centers across California. As a Founding Member and Board Director of BEYOND FACES, a nonprofit organization, he is dedicated to expanding access to charitable surgical care and promoting excellence in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Tom has been recognized for his leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing surgical standards. He serves as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) instructor and committee member with the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and contributes to the Quality Review Committee at Healdsburg District Hospital. A respected educator and researcher, Dr. Tom has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on craniofacial reconstruction and regenerative bone biotechnology, including studies on recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein (rhBMP-2). His groundbreaking research and clinical expertise have earned international recognition, including the Best Paper Award from the International Cleft Palate Foundation and the Committee Member of the Year Award from the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society.

Dr. Tom earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Detroit Receiving Hospital/Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he also received a Master of Science in Biological Sciences. His extensive postgraduate training includes an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and a General Practice Residency at Valley Medical Center in Fresno. Board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Dr. Tom continues to exemplify clinical excellence, compassionate care, and lifelong dedication to advancing the specialty.
