Urlean Green, BSN, RN
Urlean Green, RN, BSN is a highly experienced registered nurse with over three decades of service in both clinical and quality improvement roles. She began her nursing career in July 1987 at Virtua Health System, Berlin Division, where she has witnessed and adapted to numerous transformations in healthcare delivery. Through her extensive experience, Urlean has embraced change as a pathway for personal and professional growth, consistently striving to provide high-quality patient care while supporting the evolution of nursing practice.
Throughout her career, Urlean has held critical leadership roles, including Team Leader Care Coordinator, where she oversaw the care of telemetry and medical-surgical patients. Her responsibilities included patient assessment, care delegation, medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with physicians. She has maintained expertise in intravenous therapy, including PICC lines, central lines, Porta-Caths, and Hickman catheters, ensuring safe and effective patient care in both hospital and outpatient settings.
In addition to her hospital work, Urlean has contributed significantly to home care infusion nursing. She performs comprehensive nursing assessments, manages peripheral and central lines, administers home infusions, provides patient education, and supports wound care management. Her extensive experience also includes endoscopy procedures, cardiac monitoring, and conscientious sedation administration, demonstrating her adaptability and skill across multiple clinical environments.
Urlean’s commitment extends beyond direct patient care into quality improvement. Since 2016, she has served as a Quality Improvement Specialist at Virtua Health System, reviewing patient records, identifying opportunities for care enhancement, facilitating physician peer review meetings, and contributing to the development of organizational policies and procedures. Her expertise ensures that patient care and clinical practices meet the highest standards.
Dedicated to lifelong learning, Urlean holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Delaware State College and maintains certifications in IV therapy, telemetry, PICC line management, and basic life support instruction. Her objective is to continue contributing to nursing while exploring remote and non-clinical opportunities, leveraging her vast experience to enhance client and patient satisfaction. With her combination of clinical excellence, leadership, and quality improvement expertise, Urlean Green remains a respected and valuable member of the nursing profession.
