Tonya P. Clayton, BSN, RN, is a strategic and accomplished nursing leader with extensive experience advancing professional nursing practice and driving quality outcomes across complex healthcare systems. Throughout her career, Tonya has held progressive leadership roles across diverse clinical settings. She currently serves as Nurse Manager in Hematology/Oncology Research, overseeing nursing operations, leading multidisciplinary teams in clinical trials, and integrating emerging research into practice. Previously, she provided specialized care for patients with sickle cell disease and excelled as a travel nurse, adapting quickly to high-acuity, high-volume clinical environments while maintaining excellence in patient care and documentation.
Tonya’s leadership experience also includes managing clinical operations, staff development, and regulatory compliance as a Clinical Manager, Clinical Nursing Director, and Location Manager. Additionally, she has served as a Nurse Consultant for the Department of Health and Human Services, providing clinical guidance, participating in audits, and advocating for patient rights.
