Susan Munson, BS, RCS, RDMS, RVS

Susan H. Munson, BS, RCS, RDMS, RVS, is a highly experienced cardiac and vascular sonographer with over 25 years in the medical field. She currently serves as a Clinical Educator and Cardiac Sonographer at HCA Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where she performs comprehensive echocardiographic assessments including transthoracic, transesophageal, stress echo, bubble studies, and advanced Definity-enhanced imaging. Susan is registered across multiple sonography modalities, including RDMS (Abdomen) and CCI RVS (Vascular), and is recognized for her collaborative approach with healthcare teams to deliver precise diagnostic imaging and enhance patient outcomes.

Throughout her career, Susan has combined clinical expertise with a strong business acumen, spending 10–12 years on the business side of ultrasound, supporting clinical applications, IT integration, and sales. She has held positions with companies such as Mindray North America and Fuji Medical Systems USA, providing clinical support, digital training, and workflow solutions across the United States. Her unique combination of technical skill, clinical experience, and business insight allows her to bridge the gap between patient care and medical technology effectively.

Passionate about education, Susan has served as an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, training nurse practitioner students in point-of-care ultrasound and focused assessment techniques. She continues to expand her educational impact by consulting with new nurse practitioner programs and is exploring the creation of her own ultrasound education business. Looking forward, she envisions a career that balances advanced cardiac sonography, potential intraoperative applications, and ongoing contributions to ultrasound education and professional development.
