Sumaya M. Al Kalla, DMD
Dr. Sumaya M. Al Kalla, DMD is a passionate and dedicated Doctor of Dental Medicine based in Falls Church, Virginia. With a strong academic foundation from Roseman University of Health Sciences and a Master of Arts in Medical Science from Liberty University, she brings a comprehensive understanding of both clinical practice and medical sciences to her profession. From an early age, she was inspired by her father — one of the first orthodontists in Qatar — whose example ignited her passion for dentistry and instilled in her a lifelong commitment to patient care and professional excellence.
Along her journey, she had the privilege of being mentored by Dr. Gheed Almudhafar, whose wisdom, precision, and dedication deeply shaped her professional growth. Working by her side has been a transformative experience — one that refined her skills, strengthened her values, and elevated the quality of care she provides to her patients.
Throughout her academic and professional journey, Dr. Al Kalla has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing oral health and serving her community. In 2023, she was selected for the Academic Dental Career Fellowship Program (ADCFP), further solidifying her dedication to academic leadership and dental education. Her early experience as a Dental Assistant at Millennium Dental Care provided her with hands-on clinical exposure, while her volunteer work at events such as Give Kids A Smile (GKAS), Give New Utahns A smile (GNUS) at Roseman University and the American Health Expo at Howard University Hospital reflects her passion for promoting dental awareness and preventive care. Known for her compassion, precision, and cultural awareness, she approaches each patient as a unique individual, providing personalized care that blends empathy with clinical expertise.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Al Kalla finds balance and joy through her love of sports, particularly volleyball and basketball. She attributes her success to her strong work ethic, her parents’ unwavering support, and her ongoing drive to expand her skills and professional network. As she continues to grow in her field, Dr. Al Kalla looks forward to contributing to the advancement of dentistry through lifelong learning, mentorship, and future scholarly publications.
