Scott Husted MSN, CRNA, NSPM-C
Scott Husted, MSN, CRNA, NSPM-C is a distinguished figure in modern pain medicine, known for a career that blends clinical precision with a profound commitment to patient-centered care. As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist specializing in non-surgical pain management, he has dedicated decades to advancing comfort, function, and quality of life for patients whose pain has often gone unrecognized. His expertise spans complex spine and joint injections, targeted therapies, and integrative approaches designed to minimize the need for pain medications and avoid surgical interventions whenever possible.
Husted began his nursing career in 1982 and has spent over 35 years as a nurse anesthetist, building an extensive foundation of clinical experience. Since 2019, his focus has centered on non-surgical pain management, where he routinely performs 14 to 20 procedures per day, including advanced interventions aimed at restoring mobility and reducing chronic pain. His approach combines technical skill with a deep understanding of the human experience of pain, emphasizing listening, individualized care, and evidence-based strategies. Many patients experience 60–80% pain reduction under his guidance, achieving meaningful improvements in daily function and overall well-being.
Scott’s academic and professional training includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas, a Master’s in Nursing (MSN) from Rush University, and a Fellowship in Non-Surgical Pain Management at Texas Christian University. Early in his career, he began performing epidural steroid injections in 1986, gradually expanding his practice to include comprehensive pain management services for active-duty military members and patients within the Veterans Affairs system. Beyond his clinical work, Husted has been active in professional education and leadership as a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, mentoring future clinicians and contributing to fellowship programs at Texas Christian University. Inspired early by family friends in the nurse anesthesia field, he chose nursing for its unique blend of autonomy, patient connection, and clinical challenge—a decision that shaped a career marked by excellence and compassion.
As he approaches retirement, Scott looks forward to travel, spending time with family, and reconnecting with his grandchildren and his son, a traveling nurse. With decades of service behind him, he continues to approach his work with dedication and empathy, leaving a lasting impact on patients, colleagues, and the field of non-surgical pain management.
