Ron Haynes is a trauma-informed Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 15 years of experience in outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, and community-based mental health services. Currently serving at the Guilford County Detention Center – Medical Department, he provides compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges in high-stress environments. His integrative therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions to promote resilience, stability, and long-term recovery.

Throughout his career, Ron has served in diverse clinical settings, from telehealth platforms such as Thriveworks and BetterHelp to community programs supporting vulnerable populations. His expertise spans psychiatric intake, risk assessment, and coordinated care for individuals transitioning between inpatient and outpatient treatment. Ron’s leadership and mentorship have helped strengthen clinical teams, improve access to ethical, person-centered care, and foster trauma-informed organizational cultures.

A graduate of the California Institute of Integral Studies with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a concentration in Drama Therapy, Ron combines creativity with clinical precision in his work. He is passionate about expanding access to equitable mental healthcare, advocating for system-level reform, and supporting both clients and clinicians in their journeys toward growth and healing.
