Nancy J. Tecu, RN, MSN, WHNP, BC, AOCNP
Nancy J. Tecu, RN, MSN, WHNP, BC, AOCNP, is a highly experienced Nurse Practitioner specializing in gynecologic oncology at BJC Health System in St. Louis, Missouri. With over five decades of clinical practice, she combines compassionate patient care with expertise in chemotherapy, surgery, and supportive oncology interventions. Nancy partners closely with Washington University gynecologic oncology physicians to provide evidence-based care for patients at every stage of treatment.
She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and her Associate Degree in Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Nancy is board-certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner. She has also maintained her Chemotherapy and CCRN certifications throughout her extensive career, reflecting her lifelong commitment to clinical excellence.
Nancy has held a variety of roles in oncology nursing, from staff nurse to clinical educator, nurse coordinator, and nurse practitioner. At BJC Health System, she oversees outpatient chemotherapy care, leads educational initiatives for staff and patients, and directs research projects aimed at improving access to care for underserved populations. She also co-leads the Together Group, a monthly support group for gynecologic oncology patients, demonstrating her dedication to holistic care.
Throughout her career, Nancy has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Jill Malen Excellence in Nursing Research Award and the Nancy Sue Claypoole Oncology Nursing Award. She has presented her research at national conferences such as the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGNO), and her publications have advanced the field of oncology nursing practice, particularly in chemotherapy education and survivorship programs.
Beyond her clinical and research work, Nancy is deeply committed to education and mentorship. She has served as a clinical instructor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, precepted countless nurses, and contributed to the development of evidence-based clinical educator roles. Her professional memberships include Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and leadership of the Gyn-Oncology Journal Club, reflecting her dedication to fostering professional growth and improving patient care standards across the oncology nursing community.
