Miranda Barney, RN, BSN, is a seasoned behavioral health nurse with over a decade of experience in mental health care. Her career has spanned diverse clinical settings, where she has provided compassionate, evidence-based care to patients of all ages. For the past ten years, Miranda has held leadership roles as a Nurse Manager across behavioral health units, guiding her teams with empathy, professionalism, and a focus on holistic care. She joined the Resilience Behavioral Health team in June 2019, where she led her nursing staff to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed services. In her current role at the VA Medical Center, she specializes in acute mental health stabilization for Veterans, continuing her dedication to serving populations with complex needs.

As a third-generation behavioral health nurse, Miranda’s passion for mental health is deeply personal. She is a strong advocate for open-minded, compassionate care and emphasizes the importance of empowering her peers. Miranda mentors and supports her colleagues, recognizing the meaningful impact they have on the lives of the clients they serve. Her leadership and dedication have earned her multiple nominations for the DAISY Award, highlighting her excellence in nursing practice.

Miranda also has a background in education, serving as a Nurse Manager, Trainer, and Instructor for Horizon Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bacone College and continually emphasizes professional growth and mentorship within the nursing community. Her approach blends clinical expertise with compassion, ensuring her teams are well-prepared to meet the evolving challenges of behavioral health care.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Miranda is passionate about mental health for healthcare providers themselves.
