Machon Thomas, RN is a seasoned Registered Nurse Case Manager at Baylor Scott & White Health with over two decades of progressive experience in case management, patient advocacy, and care coordination. A graduate of the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Machon has dedicated her career to improving patient outcomes through compassionate, evidence-based care. Her professional philosophy is grounded in integrity, honesty, and empathy—values she consistently brings to her leadership in healthcare and patient support.

Throughout her tenure at Baylor Medical Center, Machon has made significant contributions to improving clinical workflows, reducing hospital readmissions, and enhancing the overall patient experience. She played a key role in developing an innovative case management model in partnership with the Hospitalist Physician Group, reducing the length of stay for outlier patients and streamlining communication during provider transitions. Recognized for her keen attention to patient safety, she earned the “Good Catch of the Week” award in 2023 and contributed to the initiative that later received a regional Zero Harm Patient Safety Award. Her service on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council for three consecutive years further reflects her commitment to fostering inclusive and collaborative healthcare environments.

Prior to joining Baylor, Machon served in several leadership and care coordination roles, including as a Care Coordinator at Baylor Specialty Hospital, an Emergency Department Patient Navigator at Methodist Richardson Hospital, and a Case Management Nurse with Aetna Health Plans. Her broad expertise spans acute and long-term care, emergency navigation, cardiovascular and transplant ICU coordination, and resource allocation for underserved populations. Through every role, Machon has remained deeply focused on patient-centered care—ensuring each individual receives the respect, advocacy, and quality outcomes they deserve.
