Lisa Byank, MS, CCC-SLP is the CEO and Owner of Love Speech Language, LLC, a private practice based in Phoenix, Maryland. Professionally, she is an experienced speech language pathologist with a demonstrated history of working in outpatient hospital settings and across the healthcare industry. Lisa is highly skilled in pediatrics, acute care, healthcare management, clinical research, and evaluations, and is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). Her approach integrates clinical excellence with empathy and personalized care, helping individuals of all ages enhance their communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities. Over her career, Lisa has served in respected institutions such as Children’s National Hospital, Scottish Rite Center for Childhood Language Disorders, and Mercy Medical Center, and currently provides services through Mercy Ridge and her private practice.

Lisa’s journey into speech language pathology is deeply personal and inspired by her family’s medical background. Growing up in a home that valued health and wellness, she was drawn early on to the healing professions. However, it was her grandfather’s battle with Parkinson’s disease that ignited her passion for communication sciences. Witnessing the profound impact that speech language pathologists have on quality of life motivated her to dedicate her career to this field. Lisa’s educational path reflects this commitment: she holds a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Howard University, where she also guest lectured on topics such as Differential Diagnosis and Theories of Stuttering, with re-entry coursework completed at George Washington University. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College, double majoring in Human Development and Communications, and is a proud alumna of The Bryn Mawr School for Girls in Baltimore, Maryland.

Beyond her professional achievements, Lisa embraces life as a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She is an avid animal lover, self-proclaimed foodie, and aspiring culinary enthusiast who finds joy in creating delicious meals and exploring new cuisines. A dedicated yoga practitioner, Lisa has practiced yoga for most of her life, benefiting from its profound healing effects on both mind and body. Yoga has guided her through periods of grief, loss, and stress, helping her find peace and balance even in difficult times. She has completed over 500 hours of yoga teacher training and deeply understands the importance of breath and the connection between mind, body, and spirit. Lisa thoughtfully integrates these core principles into her therapeutic work, using mindfulness, breathing, and holistic practices to support the well-being of her clients and their families. Her dedication to helping others communicate with confidence and live fully continues to define her work and inspire her leadership at Love Speech Language, LLC.
