Dr. Katherine Anne Parfomak, DDS, is a dedicated general dentist and educator currently serving patients in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is the founder and solo practitioner of Westfield Dental, a private practice offering comprehensive dental and oral healthcare through personalized, appointment-based care. In addition to providing in-office treatment, Dr. Parfomak collaborates closely with a trusted network of dental specialists to ensure patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care tailored to their needs.

Dr. Parfomak completed the prestigious accelerated BA/DDS program at New York University, earning her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences, Summa Cum Laude, in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Classics before obtaining her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the NYU College of Dental Medicine in 2018. She further advanced her clinical expertise by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency through NYU Langone Health in 2019.

Before opening Westfield Dental, Dr. Parfomak practiced at Parfomak Family Dentistry from 2019 to 2023. She now also serves as Clinical Team Lead and Assistant Professor at the Lincoln Memorial University College of Dental Medicine, where she mentors and trains future dental professionals. In 2025, she was appointed as a Dental Examiner for the American Board of Dental Examiners, reflecting her commitment to maintaining excellence and standards within the profession.

Dr. Parfomak has been recognized for her academic and clinical excellence throughout her career. She received the Founder’s Day Award during her undergraduate studies and was honored with the Dr. Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence upon graduating from dental school. During her residency, she earned Top Resident Recognition in the NYU Langone AEGD program. She has also contributed to continuing education with her 2025 presentation, “SDF: A Brief History and Current Clinical Significance.”

An active member of numerous professional organizations—including the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and American Academy of Oral and Systemic Health (AAOSH)—Dr. Parfomak remains engaged in advancing dental science and patient care. She is also dedicated to service, volunteering with the Archdiocese of Knoxville, Sisters of Charity, Miles for Smiles in Virginia, and LMU satellite clinics. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys watercolor painting, gardening, and playing the guitar, reflecting her appreciation for creativity and balance in life.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about practicing dentistry is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in my patients’ lives. I find great satisfaction in helping each patient achieve optimal oral health, restoring both function and confidence, and guiding them through personalized treatment plans. Being able to combine technical expertise with compassionate care allows me to build lasting relationships and witness the positive impact of my work firsthand.
