Clear Mentality Counseling
Rockford, MI 49341

Katelyn Cable is a psychotherapist with approximately 10 years of experience, all of which have been dedicated to her private practice, Clear Mentality Counseling. She works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, attachment concerns, relationship challenges, and trauma. Her clinical work spans adolescents and adults, and she is committed to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood as they work toward healing and personal growth.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University and later completed her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Western Michigan University. Katelyn is trained in Brainspotting, a therapeutic modality similar to EMDR that supports trauma processing by engaging the connection between the brain and body in a gentle, less cognitively demanding way. She recently attended a trauma conference at Oxford University, where she had the opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field, further strengthening her clinical insight and dedication to trauma-informed care.

Katelyn is deeply passionate about people and believes that individuals thrive when they experience love, acceptance, and a true sense of belonging. She approaches her work from a systems perspective, recognizing that healing is interconnected and that collective well-being strengthens individual well-being. As a single mother of four, she is inspired daily by the importance of resilience, connection, and living a meaningful life. She is currently exploring the possibility of pursuing a doctoral degree and aspires to mentor and support future generations of therapists.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I just love people, and I'm passionate about how when people feel loved and accepted and have a sense of belonging, they function best. That is what's best for society, so I look at things through a systems perspective also. It is just better for all of us when all of us feel better and connected. I get really inspired by people living their best lives and having their best people close to them.
