Kaley Mooney, PharmD
Kaley Mooney, PharmD, is a PGY1 Managed Care Pharmacy Resident at Capital Rx, where she focuses on improving patient outcomes through evidence-based decision-making, thoughtful formulary management, and clinical program development. Based in Coralville, Iowa, she brings a strong analytical mindset and a collaborative approach to her work across managed care operations, including formulary services, Medicare, prior authorizations, and client services.
Kaley earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2025, where she discovered her passion for managed care pharmacy. During her time in pharmacy school, she was a three-time semi-finalist in the AMCP P&T Competition and coauthored three manuscripts, experiences that strengthened her skills in research, communication, and clinical evaluation. She also held leadership roles within professional organizations, including serving as President of AMCP and Recording Secretary of Kappa Psi.
In addition to her residency training, Kaley has pursued medical writing through RxPharmacist, contributing to the development of the Iowa MPJE Study Guide. Known for her curiosity, drive, and positive leadership style, she is committed to advancing pharmacy practice and continues to seek opportunities to grow within managed care while building meaningful professional connections across the industry.
