Dr. Kailyn Elliott, MD, is a physician, healthcare executive, and innovator with a unique foundation in both nursing and medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Washington School of Nursing, an experience that shaped his patient-centered and systems-based approach to care. His clinical background spans neuroscience step-down units, emergency medicine, cardiac telemetry, orthopedic surgery, trauma, psychiatry, and rehabilitation. His early career as a registered nurse continues to inform his commitment to patient safety, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based practice.

Dr. Elliott serves as Chief Executive Officer of HealthMate, PLLC, where he leads clinical operations, financial management, and healthcare teams within correctional medicine. He is also the founder of Root Bound Health, a forward-thinking organization designed to help medical professionals transition from training to independent practice ownership. Through this model, providers receive business guidance, structured training, and hands-on residency opportunities while operating as independent contractors under an established framework—advancing his mission to expand access to primary care.

In addition to his leadership roles, Dr. Elliott developed the Transitional Linkage of Care (TLC) model, an innovative approach focused on reducing hospital readmissions through early patient identification, rapid follow-up, and remote monitoring technologies. His practice philosophy emphasizes fully present, patient-centered care supported by AI-assisted documentation and calming, non-traditional clinical environments. A recipient of the TL1 National Research Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Elliott has also contributed to research in genomic medicine and remains committed to advancing healthcare access, quality, and innovation.
