Julz Herman, BS RDH

Julz Herman, BS, RDH, is a multifaceted professional whose career bridges healthcare, wellness, business, and media. A graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and Design, and an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from Harper College, Julz has built a dynamic career rooted in both clinical expertise and integrative leadership.

For over two decades, Julz has believed that dental hygiene is about far more than “clean teeth.” It’s about nurturing the environment those teeth live in—the oral cavity and its delicate oral flora. When we respect the mouth as a living ecosystem, we protect health far beyond the smile. She remains committed to staying current with the latest research in prevention, periodontal therapy, airway and systemic links, and minimally invasive care. Her goal is to translate evolving science into simple, sustainable habits that empower patients to care for both their oral and overall wellbeing.

Julz dedication, perseverance, and precision come from personal experience. As a breast cancer survivor who has also faced other medical challenges, she understands firsthand how vital accuracy, prevention, and total-body care truly are. Those experiences deepened her compassion and shaped her philosophy as a clinician—to care for the whole person, not just their symptoms.

She meets patients where they are. Every individual brings a story and a coping style—whether humor, fear, or frustration—and she tailors each visit to the person in her chair, not just the chart in front of her. By listening, setting realistic goals, and celebrating progress step by step, she helps patients feel seen, supported, and confident in their health journey.

One of the most meaningful experiences in Julie’s career was traveling to Honduras on a medical mission trip, where she provided care and education in underserved communities. The people she met made a bigger impact on her than she could ever make on them, reminding her that gratitude and resilience are universal forms of beauty. Her passion for giving back also extends to volunteering at free dental clinics, where she continues to serve those in need with compassion and purpose.

In addition to her clinical background, Julie serves as a wellness advocate, helping individuals and families integrate natural solutions into their routines for a balanced and healthy lifestyle. She also uses her voice and platform on social media to share motivational content, wellness insights, and inspiration to “Go Sparkle” in every aspect of life.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Julie is an avid runner and the founder of a local run club that promotes fitness, perseverance, and community. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, crafting, and modeling.
