Joseph Garbely, D.O., DFASAM, FAPA

Dr. Joseph Garbely, D.O., is a distinguished physician and expert in addiction medicine, psychiatry, and internal medicine with nearly three decades of clinical experience. He serves as Medical Director of Malvern Health’s Ford Road facility, overseeing medical operations and leading a multidisciplinary team dedicated to personalized, patient-centered care for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. His approach champions evidence-based strategies and collaborative treatment planning to improve long-term outcomes for patients across the continuum of behavioral health care.

Dr. Garbely is triple board-certified in internal medicine, psychiatry, and addiction medicine, reflecting a broad and deep clinical foundation. In addition to his leadership role at Malvern Health, he contributes to the academic community as a Clinical Associate Professor at Penn State College of Medicine and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Drexel University College of Medicine. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), where he chairs the Physician in Training Committee and serves as an ex-officio board member, and he is also a member of the American College of Academic Addiction Medicine.
