Joanne S. Williams, LCSW is a highly experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of guiding clients toward personal growth, emotional resilience, and lasting well-being. Throughout her career, she has helped thousands of individuals reduce anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional challenges using skill-based therapies that emphasize empowerment rather than reliance on medication. Her work blends traditional counseling with innovative, evidence-informed techniques to provide clients with practical tools for navigating life’s complexities.

Joanne specializes in Next Generation Psychological Techniques, which help clients reroute habitual thought patterns from the emotional and gut centers of the brain to the belief center. This approach fosters meaningful, long-term personal growth, self-confidence, and internal stability. She is particularly recognized for her expertise in PTSD and trauma recovery, supporting clients in moving out of survival mode and developing a felt sense of calm, safety, and confidence in their daily lives.

A distinctive aspect of Joanne’s practice involves her work with psychiatric service dogs and emotional support animals. Through Service Dog Pro, she assists clients in legally certifying their animals under ADA and FHA protections. This innovative approach enables clients to use their dogs as real-time biofeedback tools for anxiety reduction, emotional regulation, and trauma recovery, enhancing the effectiveness of therapy beyond the office.

Beyond her clinical work, Joanne is a thought leader and educator. She hosts the international podcast Anxiety Simplified, ranked #14 in Anxiety Relief Podcasts by Feedspot, and regularly speaks and writes on mental health, trauma recovery, and practical strategies for emotional well-being. She translates clinical knowledge into actionable, everyday tools that empower clients to improve relationships, parenting, and overall life satisfaction.

Joanne’s personal experiences growing up in a chaotic and traumatic household fuel her deep compassion and insight, enabling her to connect authentically with clients who have faced similar challenges. Her commitment to guiding individuals toward a freer, more confident, and resilient life defines her work as both a therapist and an advocate, creating a lasting impact on the clients and communities she serves.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

My 30 years in my therapy practice is more than a career, it is a life mission devoted to finding more effective ways to reduce the affects and the impact of anxiety and PTSD on people’s lives.

It is a profound privilege to walk alongside another human being who is ready to move beyond fear, reclaim their sense of safety, and step into a fuller expression of who they are. Witnessing that courage and growth is endlessly humbling—and deeply inspiring. It becomes my privedlege to be in the company of another human being that wants to get beyond fear to live a full life and live their potential is just awe inspiring to be a part of.
