Jessica Phelps, APRN, CNP, DNP

Jessica Phelps, DNP, FNP, RN, is a dedicated healthcare professional and Nurse Practitioner student at the University of Minnesota, graduate class of May 2019 with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. She brings over eight years of experience as a Registered Nurse on a medical-surgical unit at Mayo Clinic Rochester and 5 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Mayo Clinic Health System- Owatonna, where she has developed strong clinical expertise and a commitment to patient-centered care. Throughout her career, Jessica has demonstrated leadership and a passion for improving patient outcomes. She has served as unit chair, in-charge nurse, and preceptor/instructor in Family Medicine, actively contributing to multiple unit and department committees. Her dedication and excellence in practice have been recognized with the Individual Achievement Award at Mayo Clinic, highlighting her ability to lead and mentor colleagues while delivering high-quality care. Jessica’s clinical interests include family practice, medical-surgical nursing, and women’s health, with training in IUD and Nexplanon insertion. She is committed to patient advocacy and care coordination, ensuring that each patient receives personalized and thoughtful attention. Her background in medical-surgical nursing has provided a strong foundation for managing complex patient needs and supporting positive health outcomes. Beyond her clinical work, Jessica is passionate about public and global health. She has participated in study abroad programs and the Global Health Case Competition, broadening her perspective on healthcare systems worldwide.
