Jennifer Sluga, MS, NCC, LPC, SAC is the Founder, Owner, Psychotherapist, and Clinical Consultant of Trauma Life Consulting, a trauma-informed mental health collective based in Waunakee, Wisconsin, serving individuals and families across the state through in-person and telehealth services.

Jennifer earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and has built a career defined by advanced trauma specialization, clinical leadership, and service to high-risk and underserved populations. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), EMDR provider, and EMDRIA-approved Consultant, with extensive training in EMDR, somatic and parts-based modalities, and evidence-based trauma treatment.

With over a decade of experience serving veterans and their families, Jennifer previously worked as a psychotherapist at the Madison Veterans Center, where she provided comprehensive trauma-informed care addressing Post-Traumatic Stress, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), combat-related trauma, and complex life transitions associated with military service. Her clinical background also includes work with Meriter–UnityPoint Health and Journey Mental Health, where she delivered substance use treatment, facilitated group therapy, and provided psychoeducational and crisis-responsive services across diverse clinical settings.

Jennifer’s work is grounded in the belief that healing occurs through safety, attunement, and evidence-based intervention. She is known for her ability to integrate clinical excellence with relational depth, helping clients address the emotional, psychological, and somatic impacts of trauma while supporting long-term resilience and personal growth. Her approach emphasizes individualized treatment planning, nervous-system regulation, and restoring a sense of agency and connection.

Beyond direct clinical care, Jennifer is an active consultant, trainer, and mentor to other mental health professionals. She is deeply involved in community engagement, advocacy, and expanding access to trauma-informed services throughout Wisconsin, particularly for veterans, trauma survivors, and individuals navigating complex medical, psychological, and life stressors.

What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the opportunity to help people in meaningful, lasting ways. Every patient interaction allows me to provide support, guidance, and care during some of their most vulnerable moments. Making a positive impact on someone’s health and well-being is deeply rewarding, and it continually reinforces my commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered medical care.
