Dr. Grace Kathrine Herriman, DNP, FNP-BC
Dr. Grace (Unbehaun) Herriman, DNP, FNP-BC (she/her), is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner based in Knoxville, Tennessee. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from East Tennessee State University, where she also served as a graduate assistant and clinical instructor. Dr. Herriman is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American Nurses Association, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and professional service.
During her doctoral training, Dr. Herriman completed and presented a scholarly project focused on improving sexual health history-taking and documentation in an urban private primary care practice serving high-risk populations. This work emphasized evidence-based practice, effective communication, and quality improvement, underscoring her dedication to advancing equitable, patient-centered care. Her academic experience highlights strong critical thinking skills and a passion for improving clinical outcomes through research and education.
Prior to and alongside her advanced practice education, Dr. Herriman gained several years of experience as a peri-operative nurse, where she developed strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and a compassionate approach to patient care. With a background that spans perioperative nursing, primary care, and advanced practice education, Dr. Herriman brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented, and holistic perspective to her work, dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of individuals and families across the lifespan.
