Dr. Dipali Desai, M.D. is a highly accomplished board-certified family medicine physician with extensive experience in both hospital and outpatient care. Practicing under a traditional family medicine model, she provides comprehensive healthcare services with a focus on preventive, integrative, and patient-centered medicine. She currently practices with Southwest Internal Medicine, part of University Hospitals Medical Practice, where she is affiliated with Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. With a passion for holistic wellness, Dr. Desai has expanded her expertise through an Integrative Psychiatry Fellowship completed in 2020 and continues her professional development as a fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr. Desai has built a distinguished medical career grounded in strong clinical training and a commitment to lifelong learning. She completed her Family Medicine residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, from 2011 to 2014, where she served as Chief Educational Resident and contributed to the writing and renewal of the MetroHealth Family Medicine Resident Handbook. During her residency, she received the Excellence in Pediatric Care Award, reflecting her dedication to providing high-quality care for patients across all stages of life. Prior to her residency, she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Government Medical College Surat, Gujarat, India, in 2008.

Throughout her career, Dr. Desai has practiced in diverse healthcare settings, including Southwest General Hospital and Third Street Family Health Services at Shelby Health and Wellness Center. Her clinical interests encompass family medicine, integrative psychiatry, lifestyle medicine, and preventive healthcare. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds an active medical license with the State Medical Board of Ohio. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Desai serves as teaching faculty for Ashland University’s Nurse Practitioner program and Baldwin Wallace University’s Physician Assistant program, mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Dr. Desai is deeply committed to community service, health education, and wellness advocacy. She has participated in numerous volunteer initiatives, including health screenings at the Cleveland Asian Festival and ISSO Temple Health Camp, community health talks at libraries, nursing homes, universities, and community organizations, and the organization of the 5K Walk for Peace and Wellbeing in 2023. She is also a teacher with The Art of Living Foundation, where she leads breathwork and meditation workshops for healthcare professionals and community members. Her dedication to service extends internationally through her role as Director of Outreach for Hindu Physician International.

Recognized for her excellence in medicine and leadership, Dr. Desai has received numerous honors, including the Nationwide Registries Women of Distinction Honor in 2024, America’s Best Doctor Award in 2025, Top Family Practitioner Award in 2025, and the Excellence in Family Medicine recognition from The Inner Circle in 2026.
