Daniel K. Powell, MD

Dr. Daniel K. Powell, MD, is a board-certified radiologist specializing in diagnostic and vascular & interventional radiology, currently practicing at West Cancer Center in Germantown, Tennessee, since 2015. With more than 14 years of experience in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, he is recognized for his expertise in treating a wide range of complex conditions. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Powell serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and is an active member of the Board of Directors at West Cancer Center, contributing to both academic advancement and organizational leadership.

Dr. Powell’s path to medicine is deeply personal and shaped by resilience. Originally a literature major at Yale University, he was inspired to pursue a career in medicine following the loss of his father to cancer during his college years. He went on to complete a post-baccalaureate program before earning his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University) in 2009. He completed his internship shortly thereafter, followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel from 2010 to 2014, and a fellowship in interventional radiology at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University from 2014 to 2015. He is board-certified in both diagnostic radiology and vascular & interventional radiology.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Powell remains committed to continuous learning and personal enrichment. He maintains an interest in radiology research and publications, while also enjoying gardening, reading, and exploring the arts in his free time. His career reflects a thoughtful blend of technical expertise, compassionate motivation, and a dedication to advancing patient care through innovative, minimally invasive techniques.
