Daniel Cade Montague, MOTR/L
Daniel Cade Montague is a highly skilled and experienced occupational therapist with over a decade of practice across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. He holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Mississippi College, and an Associate of Arts in Music from Holmes Community College. His multidisciplinary educational background allows him to approach patient care with creativity, clinical precision, and a holistic perspective.
Throughout his career, Montague has provided specialized care in inpatient, outpatient, acute care, and long-term rehabilitation settings. He has extensive experience evaluating and treating patients with diverse diagnoses, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, orthopedic injuries, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other congenital or acquired disorders. He utilizes evidence-based techniques, therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment, and cognitive-behavioral strategies to enhance patient independence and functional outcomes.
Montague has also contributed significantly to occupational therapy education and program development. As Program Director and Instructor for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Holmes Community College, he mentored students, managed program budgets, oversaw curriculum updates, and built clinical partnerships with local healthcare providers. In addition, he has served as a clinical instructor at Mississippi Baptist Health System, guiding Level 1 fieldwork OT students while supervising occupational therapy assistants and supporting interdisciplinary teams.
His professional experience includes long-term and PRN roles at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Tara Therapy LLC, Greenwood-Leflore Hospital, Manhattan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Touro Hospital, and Batson Children’s Hospital. Across these roles, Montague has applied advanced rehabilitation techniques such as Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), electrical stimulation, sensory integration, splinting, joint mobilization, and customized therapeutic exercises. He is recognized for his ability to develop individualized care plans for patients ranging from children to older adults, ensuring safety, functional improvement, and a return to meaningful daily activities.
Beyond his clinical and educational work, Montague incorporates creativity and holistic approaches into therapy, drawing on his background in music and exercise science.
