Dana Lau, FNP
Dana Lau has devoted her career to nursing since 2007, steadily advancing from nursing aide to LPN, then RN, and ultimately becoming a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2019. She earned her LPN from West Watkins Vocational Technology Center, her Associate’s degree from Murray State College in Tishomingo, her Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma City University, and her Master’s degree from Graceland University. Her professional journey reflects both determination and a deep commitment to lifelong learning.
Throughout her career, Dana has gained diverse clinical experience in two correctional facilities, chemotherapy and cancer care, and nephrology. She currently practices with Total Wound Care Oklahoma, a mobile wound care clinic that delivers specialized medical services directly to patients in their homes. The practice has expanded significantly, now serving approximately 1,000 patients across six states. Dana holds wound care and ostomy certification through the National Alliance of Wound Care and is actively pursuing her American Board of Wound Management Wound Care Specialist certification to further strengthen her expertise.
Known for her compassionate and highly accessible approach to care, Dana prioritizes building meaningful relationships with her patients. She provides her personal phone number and makes herself available—even in the evenings—because she believes patients deserve to feel supported at all times. Guided by the principle of treating others the way she would want to be treated, Dana attributes her success to hard work, initiative, and a genuine passion for serving others. Adding a special dimension to her work, her twin sister is part of her clinical team, serving as one of her nurses.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I've always liked being able to take care of people, and I've done it for a long time. I don't meet a stranger, and I make myself available, readily available, to all my patients, especially even if it's driving to see them or whatever. They all get my number. If they have a question at 8 o'clock at night, they know that they can call or text me, because that's what I would want. I always treat people the way you want to be treated. I can't stand to see anybody go hungry, or starve, or suffer, anything like that. I can't. I've always cared for people, always liked taking care of people. I'm always trying to please, I'm a people pleaser, and it doesn't take a lot of brains to be able to relate to people, and talk to them, and just be very friendly.
