Dr. Cindy Okolo, DNP, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a highly skilled nurse practitioner and healthcare leader, currently serving as a DNP at Missouri Highlands Health Care. She has extensive experience across hospitalist and critical care roles, having worked at Elkhart General Hospital, Ottumwa Regional Hospital, ALMH, and UChicago Medicine. Dr. Okolo brings a patient-centered approach to her practice, integrating clinical expertise with strategic healthcare insights to improve patient outcomes and support organizational goals.
Dr. Okolo earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Midwestern University and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Family Practice from Governors State University, where she was active in Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Nursing Society, the American Nurse Association (ANA), the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), and the National Stroke Association. She holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), reflecting her commitment to the highest standards of clinical care.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Okolo demonstrates strong leadership, teamwork, and mentorship skills. She has coordinated nursing career fairs, fundraisers, and health awareness initiatives, including HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, and heart disease programs.
