Cheries Dupee, M.S., tLMHC is a compassionate and client-centered Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand View University. She specializes in supporting individuals, couples, and groups through evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing. Cheries is dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, gain insight, and develop strategies for personal growth and resilience.
She currently provides counseling services at Forward Consulting LLC in Des Moines, Iowa, delivering hybrid mental health care that addresses anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relational challenges, and life transitions. Cheries is committed to fostering supportive environments and empowering clients to navigate challenges with confidence and purpose. Her approach combines professional expertise with empathy, active listening, and a deep understanding of individual needs.
Cheries gained extensive hands-on experience as a Mental Health Counseling Intern and Graduate Assistant at Grand View University, where she conducted intake assessments, developed treatment plans, and facilitated both individual and group counseling sessions. She also guided college students in career development, resume building, and interview preparation, further expanding her ability to mentor and support clients in multiple aspects of their personal and professional lives.
Beyond her clinical practice, Cheries is a published author and inspirational speaker, sharing insights on personal growth, wellness, and human virtues through her work. She is an active member of Tau Upsilon Alpha National Organization for Human Services Honor Society and holds certifications including Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter, Psychological First Aid, and Ministry Safe Sexual Abuse Awareness Training.
