Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most is working with the families and the youth, trying to get them back home and out of the system. A lot of bad things have happened to these poor kids, and we can only do so much, but we're planting seeds. Sometimes they'll come back and let us know they wish they would have listened back then, or it took them this long but they get it now. It's those moments that keep me coming back to work. I fell in love with the boys at Rawhide when I first met them, and even though I never thought I'd work with kids, it's been very fulfilling. We work with foster kids and kids with CPS reports who don't have homes to go to, and we work with the counties to try to find foster families or other places for them to go. We have a phenomenal therapist team here, and we're very supportive of each other and have each other's backs.
