Carol Hedtke, FNP

Carol Hedtke, FNP, is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. Currently practicing at Avere Healthcare Clinics, Carol has dedicated her career to serving diverse patient populations, with a special passion for caring for veterans. Her work is grounded in compassion, clinical excellence, and advocacy, earning the trust and loyalty of patients throughout her career.

Carol previously worked at a VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Denton, Texas, where she found great purpose in serving those who served our country. Driven by a desire to improve care delivery, she later opened her own private practices—twice—successfully building strong patient followings, including many veterans who chose to continue their care with her. In 2024, she expanded her impact by launching a wound care company, further demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to addressing unmet patient needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Carol is passionate about education and mentorship, serving as a preceptor for both nurse practitioner and registered nurse students. She holds RN and LPN credentials from Fox Valley Technical School and Bay de Noc Community College, respectively, and is highly experienced with VA systems, including CPRS. Carol continues to seek opportunities to return to VA care in Southeast Texas, driven by a profound sense of honor in serving the veteran community.
