Amy Dunn, MSN, FNP-BC, FNP-C, RNFA, is a highly accomplished nurse practitioner, as well as the owner, founder, and Medical Director of Wildwood Pelvic Health in Boise, Idaho. With over a decade of clinical experience, Amy has built a reputation for excellence in patient care and healthcare leadership. She began her career as a licensed practical nurse with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in a medical-surgical unit, during this time she obtained her registered nursing degree with Idaho State University and went on to pursue her dream of working in a critical care trauma unit with Saint Alphonsus Hospital. During the eight years she spent in this role, she developed a deep understanding of the complexity of patient care and ultimately elected to go back to school to earn her master’s degree with George Washington University as a nurse practitioner. While obtaining her degree, she took on a part time role with St Luke's hospital in a post-operative recovery unit, which inspired her to continue her surgical training. After graduation, she went on to dedicate herself to an operative first assist program. Upon its completion, she accepted a position with St Luke's Urology, where she discovered her true passion in medicine. Before going on to open her own practice, she spent five years in total with St Luke’s, building her nursing, surgical, and pelvic health skillsets; including a preceptorship with colorectal medicine.

Recognizing that patients often struggled in silence with conditions that profoundly affected their quality of life, Amy felt called to create a different kind of practice — one which brought these specialties together, where all of these conversations could happen openly and in one place without shame. In a world where pelvic health and sexual medicine are often hidden and seen as "taboo" or "off-limits" topics, Amy founded Wildwood Pelvic Health to bring these issues out of the shadows for both men and women. Because everyone deserves to discuss their health openly and receive dedicated care — without stigma, without shame, and with a provider who genuinely cares.

Amy’s clinical expertise allows her to provide a wide range of urology and gynecology services; including basic gynecologic and urologic evaluations and cancer screenings, hormone therapy, medical management of bothersome urinary symptoms and conditions, contraceptive care, treatment and prevention of recurrent UTIs and prostatitis, sexual health (including advanced treatments for erectile dysfunction) and STD testing, pelvic pain, and even weight loss management (as weight impacts so much of our pelvic health and many associated conditions). As the Medical Director of Wildwood Pelvic Health, Amy leads a patient-focused practice that is dedicated to serving the Treasure Valley community with innovative and compassionate care. Her certifications and expertise in advanced therapies, combined with her commitment to education and patient outcomes, allow her to provide comprehensive and personalized treatment for every patient. Amy’s career reflects not only clinical excellence but also a dedication to advancing healthcare services, improving access to specialized care, and enhancing the overall well-being of her patients.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

The little things. Those small moments where you see that something you’ve shared has connected with your patients in a meaningful way, or when they’re sharing their excitement about their progress. Just knowing that you’ve helped on some level to improve someone’s quality of life.
