Amy Dunn, MSN, FNP-C, FNP-BC, RNFA, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than fifteen years of progressive clinical experience spanning critical care, perioperative services, and advanced surgical practice. Based in Boise, Idaho, she currently serves as the Founder and Medical Director of Wildwood Pelvic Health, an independent urology and gynecology clinic established in 2026. Her clinical expertise includes comprehensive urologic care, preventative women’s health, hormone therapy management, and medical weight loss, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Amy earned her Master of Science in Nursing from George Washington University in 2022, following her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the same institution in 2021. She also holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Idaho State University and began her healthcare career as a Licensed Practical Nurse through Umpqua Community College. She later advanced her practice with specialized training as a Registered Nurse First Assist through the National Institute of First Assisting, completing extensive surgical preceptorships in neurosurgery, obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics, and general surgery.

Throughout her postgraduate training, Amy developed advanced operative skills and clinical expertise in both minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. Her first assist experience includes complex spinal fusions, reconstructive orthopedic surgeries, and a wide range of general and breast surgeries. She has also supported urologic and robotic-assisted procedures, including prostatectomies, nephrectomies, and sacrocolpopexy, while maintaining proficiency in outpatient procedures such as cystoscopy, urodynamics, and intravesical therapies.

Prior to her current leadership role, Amy built a strong foundation in acute and critical care nursing across multiple specialties at St. Luke’s Medical Center and Saint Alphonsus Health System. Her experience includes neuro-trauma intensive care, telemetry, post-anesthesia care, urology, and colorectal surgery. In these roles, she managed high-acuity patients, assisted in life-saving bedside procedures, and collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care across the continuum.

In addition to her clinical practice, Amy serves as a Clinical Instructor at Carrington College, where she mentors and guides nursing students in developing clinical competence and professional confidence. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

The little things. Those small moments where you see that something you’ve shared has connected with your patients in a meaningful way, or when they’re sharing their excitement about their progress. Just knowing that you’ve helped on some level to improve someone’s quality of life.
