Allen M. (Mike) Johnson, MSN, RN, NE-BC is a healthcare operations and clinical leadership executive with more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience across multi-site ambulatory care, physician practice operations, oncology, acute care, critical care, patient experience, workforce performance, quality, and regulatory readiness.
Throughout his career, Allen has led complex clinical and operational environments, partnering with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leaders, interdisciplinary teams, and executive stakeholders to improve workforce stability, patient access, operational performance, quality, and the patient experience. His leadership experience includes regional oversight across multiple healthcare entities, service-line development, staffing and workforce optimization, leadership development, competency and practice standardization, regulatory readiness, and performance improvement.
Allen is particularly recognized for building strong teams and sustainable operating systems. His work has included stabilizing high-turnover environments, strengthening leadership accountability, improving interdisciplinary collaboration, developing specialized clinical programs, and creating practical systems that connect frontline realities with measurable organizational outcomes.
He remains professionally active through adjunct nursing education and independent healthcare operations and clinical leadership consulting, with consulting interests that include healthcare operations, change management, strategic planning, program and project management, leadership development, and competency development.
Allen holds a Master of Science in Nursing in Administration and Financial Leadership from Florida Atlantic University, is a Nurse Executive, Board Certified (NE-BC), and is an America’s Best in Medicine Award Recipient. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I find most fulfilling about healthcare is the opportunity to improve both the patient experience and the systems that support exceptional care.
