Dr. Alan K. Miller, MD, FACS
Alan Keith Miller, MD, FACS, is a board-certified urologist with more than three decades of experience providing comprehensive urologic care to patients throughout Florida. A Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Miller is recognized for his expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of urologic conditions. He is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care while utilizing advanced treatment options to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
Currently, Dr. Miller serves as a urologist with Urology Partners of Manatee, where he continues a distinguished career that has included leadership roles within the practice since 2003. In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as an Assistant Clinical Instructor of Urology at Lake Erie College of Medicine and has been a proctor for prostate cryosurgery. From 2010 to 2025, he founded and led the Manatee Medical Research Institute as President, Principal Investigator, and clinical researcher, advancing innovation through participation in numerous clinical research initiatives.
Throughout his career, Dr. Miller has demonstrated exceptional leadership within the medical community. He has served as Chief of Staff, Vice Chief of Staff, Treasurer, and Chief of Surgery at Manatee Memorial Hospital, as well as Chief of Surgery at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Urological Association, American College of Surgeons, Florida Urological Society, Florida Medical Association, and Manatee County Medical Society, where he served as President from 2022 to 2024. He has also held leadership positions on the boards of several regional and state medical organizations, reflecting his commitment to advancing the profession of urology.
Dr. Miller earned his Bachelor of Arts from Haverford College before receiving his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, followed by a urology residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. Prior to entering private practice, he served with distinction in the United States Navy, holding numerous leadership positions including Chief of Urology at multiple naval hospitals, Chief of Staff at Naval Hospital Roosevelt Roads, and Chief Medical Officer for the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force in the Republic of the Philippines.
In addition to his clinical and leadership accomplishments, Dr. Miller has contributed to the advancement of urologic medicine through clinical research and peer-reviewed publications. His work has been published in respected medical journals, addressing topics ranging from pediatric urology to innovative treatment techniques. Licensed to practice in Florida, Michigan, and South Carolina, Dr. Miller remains dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care while mentoring future physicians, supporting medical research, and advancing excellence in the field of urology.
