Sherri “Tasha” McCain-Currie, APRN
Sherri L. McCain Currie, B.S.N., M.S.N., FNP-C is a highly skilled Family Nurse Practitioner based in Columbia, South Carolina, with over 15 years of comprehensive nursing experience. She is dedicated to providing patient-centered care across diverse healthcare settings, including primary care, telemedicine, urgent care, home health, and correctional nursing. Sherri began her nursing journey as a Registered Nurse, gaining valuable experience in intensive care, medical-surgical units, orthopedics, wound care, and women’s health. She also provided specialized care in home health and correctional facilities, demonstrating strong clinical judgment and adaptability across multiple patient populations. These formative years shaped her holistic approach to patient care and her ability to navigate complex healthcare environments.
After earning her Master of Science in Nursing from Kaplan University, Sherri became a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner, expanding her scope to include assessment, diagnosis, and management of chronic and acute illnesses in both adult and pediatric patients. She has served in prominent roles at institutions such as MUSC Family Medicine and Palmetto Health, where she managed chronic conditions, mental health disorders, and urgent care cases while mentoring nursing students and supervising clinical staff.
Currently, Sherri manages her private practice at Lyons Heart Primary Care, LLC, where she provides comprehensive in-person and telemedicine care. In addition to primary care, she offers aesthetic treatments such as Morpheus 8, laser hair removal, and injection therapy. She also conducts Veteran Compensation and Pension Examinations and serves as a preceptor, sharing her expertise with the next generation of healthcare professionals.
