Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I try to smile a lot, and It's been a joy just to figure out the puzzle pieces needed so that my patients do too. The experience of medical school and residency ensured a level of confidence in my understanding of the medicine to do what I need to do to keep people healthy, but I have learned that a true caregiver emphasizes activity so patients may input their own agency to get themselves stronger. I get to be their cheerleaders and be their physician - just be there for them. I like helping people, I like getting to know people, trying to do something small each day to make their lives easier, and make their quality of life better. So this field has been very rewarding in that regard because we are in the business of progress.
