With more than a decade of progressive experience in nursing, Shilo J. Risley is a dynamic Registered Nurse (BSN, AMB-BC) whose practice has been rooted in clinical excellence, leadership, and patient-centered care since 2013. She currently serves as a Nurse Manager in Call Center, Centralized Telehealth, and Employee Health at the Institute for Family Health in New York, a role she has held since 2020. In this leadership position, she oversees clinical operations, develops and refines workflows, and ensures the delivery of efficient, high-quality patient care across multiple service lines. She collaborates closely with senior administrators and clinical leaders to solve operational challenges, while also training and mentoring staff to maintain consistent standards of care and operational excellence.
Her clinical experience also includes her earlier role as a Registered Nurse with Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County, where she provided comprehensive care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from 2016 to 2020. During this time, she supervised healthcare teams, delegated clinical responsibilities, and ensured compliance with OPWDD guidelines. She also played a key role in staff education and certification, serving as an instructor for medication administration, g-tube care, and other essential clinical competencies, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, dignity, and individualized care.
Academically, she holds both an Associate of Science in Nursing from Columbia-Greene Community College, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capella University, also completed with a 4.0 GPA. Her commitment to continued professional development is further demonstrated through certifications including Ambulatory Care Board Certification, CPR and First Aid certification, and extensive expertise in electronic medical record systems such as EPIC.

What I enjoy most about practicing nursing is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. Being able to guide them to the right level of care, whether through telehealth or in-person services, and seeing the impact of compassionate, patient-centered care is incredibly rewarding.
