Sharon Namazi, MS, DDS
Dr. Sharon Namazi has built her career around transforming painful dental experiences into opportunities for healing and compassionate care. Her passion for endodontics began at just six years old after suffering severe tooth pain that required emergency treatment and her first root canal procedure. What could have remained a difficult childhood memory instead became the inspiration for a lifelong commitment to helping patients overcome dental pain and preserve their oral health. Today, Dr. Namazi is recognized for her expertise in diagnosing and treating complex tooth pain while providing patient-centered care grounded in empathy and advanced clinical knowledge.
Originally completing her undergraduate dental education in Dubai, Dr. Namazi developed extensive hands-on experience in endodontic procedures before pursuing advanced specialty training in the United States. She continued her education at University of Michigan, where she completed her endodontic residency and earned a Master’s of Oral Sciences degree in 2023. In addition, she obtained a fellowship in prosthodontics, further strengthening her interdisciplinary expertise in restorative and endodontic care. Her international educational background and advanced specialty training have given her a distinctive global perspective and a comprehensive approach to patient treatment.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Namazi is deeply committed to education and mentorship. During her time at the University of Michigan, she spent three years teaching anatomy to dental students and residents, where she lectured and supervised laboratory instruction. Her passion for teaching reflects her dedication to advancing the field of dentistry and helping future clinicians build strong foundational knowledge. Clinically, she specializes in root canal therapy, pain management, and advanced procedures such as partial pulpotomies, which help preserve healthy nerve tissue in younger patients whenever possible. She is also an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, Michigan Dental Association, and American Dental Association.
As she continues to expand her practice, Dr. Namazi is especially excited to begin working with Motown's Children's Surgery Center, where she will provide endodontic care for special needs children under general anesthesia. This new chapter represents a meaningful full-circle moment in her career, allowing her to support young patients experiencing the same type of dental pain that once shaped her own path. Through her combination of technical expertise, compassion, and dedication to patient comfort, Dr. Namazi continues to make a lasting impact in the field of endodontics and pediatric dental care.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most is that endodontics has been my passion since I was a child. When I was six years old, I had an extremely bad toothache that required emergency treatment and a root canal. The pain was so severe, but that experience stuck with me and made me want to help others in the same situation. When I got into dental school, I discovered there were different branches of dentistry, and endodontics was exactly what I wanted to do. I absolutely love doing root canals and saving teeth - it's my passion. I also enjoyed teaching during my residency, spending three years lecturing and managing laboratory instruction in anatomy for dental students and residents at the University of Michigan. Now I'm excited to be starting work at Motown's Children's Surgery Center, where I'll be providing endodontic care to special needs children under general anesthesia. It takes me back to my own six-year-old memory with the toothache, and I'm very happy and excited to help children who are going through what I experienced.
