Sarojini K. Ratnakar, MD
Sarojini K. Ratnakar, MD is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with more than two decades of clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient care. She earned her medical degree from Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College in India, followed by a clinical internship at Gandhi Medical College. She later completed her Family Medicine residency at the Genesis Health System (Quad Cities), finishing in 2007, and has been board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since that same year. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu, allowing her to serve a diverse patient population.
Dr. Ratnakar currently practices with OSF HealthCare, where she works primarily as a hospital-based physician, caring for patients admitted through the emergency department and managing a wide range of acute medical conditions. She has extensive experience across multiple states, including Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Nebraska, through both permanent and locum tenens roles. In addition to her clinical practice, she previously held leadership positions at Genesis Medical Center in the Quad Cities, serving as Associate Medical Director and later Medical Director of the hospitalist service.
Her clinical expertise includes the management of chronic and acute conditions such as hypertension, anemia, diabetes, and stroke care, with a strong emphasis on comprehensive, patient-centered treatment. She is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Society of Hospital Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians, and is recognized for her commitment to compassionate communication and clear care planning.
