Saralyn Franklin
Saralyn Franklin is a registered nurse with a strong background in emergency medicine, behavioral health, and nursing leadership. She began her nursing career in 2016 and spent approximately five and a half years in the emergency department, where she developed extensive experience in acute care, clinical decision-making, and high-pressure patient management. Her early work in the ER helped shape her strong clinical foundation and patient-centered approach to nursing practice.
Following her time in emergency medicine, Saralyn transitioned into a leadership role as a Director of Nursing within a non-profit Department of Labor Job Corps program. In this position, she oversaw a medical program serving underprivileged youth from urban communities, providing comprehensive healthcare services in a residential setting. Her leadership focused on ensuring quality care delivery while supporting students as they pursued education, vocational training, and personal development toward independent adulthood.
She later expanded her clinical experience through travel nursing, with a focus on psychiatry, behavioral health, detox, and chemical dependency care. This work allowed her to support diverse patient populations across multiple settings while strengthening her expertise in addiction medicine and mental health nursing. She is currently employed in a permanent role with American Addiction Centers in Rhode Island, where she continues to provide care in behavioral health and substance use treatment.
Throughout her career, Saralyn has remained committed to patient advocacy, nursing excellence, and team empowerment. As a first-generation college graduate, she values education and professional growth, both for herself and for the teams she leads. Her leadership philosophy centers on fostering autonomy, improving quality of care, and creating supportive environments where both patients and healthcare professionals can thrive.
