Originally from Jersey City, Hesington relocated to Pennsylvania with her family approximately 20 years ago and has since devoted her career to serving patients and healthcare communities throughout the state. She finds tremendous fulfillment in leadership because it allows her to advocate for patients and ensure their needs are met on a broader organizational level. Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I love most about what I do is the fact that I can leave work every day knowing that I made a difference. That's really what drives me and keeps me going in this profession. Being in management now allows me to help my patients in a different way than I did at the bedside. I can control and make sure their needs are met on a different level, not just the day-to-day care, but ensuring the overall quality and standards are there for everyone. It's incredibly fulfilling to know that the work I do has a meaningful impact on people's lives.
