Malek Ryan Baxter is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor based in North Las Vegas, Nevada, currently completing his professional development as a counseling intern while advancing toward full clinical practice. He is a dedicated, empathetic, and results-driven mental health professional with a strong commitment to supporting individuals through emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges. He is currently completing his clinical internship at Heads Up Guidance and Wellness Centers of Nevada, where he provides individual counseling services, conducts intake assessments, develops treatment plans, maintains clinical documentation, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams. Prior to this, he completed internships at Core Mental Health Services and Desert Hope Treatment Center, where he gained valuable experience in group facilitation, psychoeducation, substance use counseling, and client engagement.

Malek earned his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, graduating with a strong academic record and a GPA of 3.91. His graduate training provided comprehensive knowledge in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, multicultural counseling, group therapy dynamics, and psychopharmacology. This education, combined with supervised clinical experience, has equipped him with the skills necessary to provide effective, evidence-based mental health care.

He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Throughout his academic journey, he developed a strong foundation in human behavior, emotional development, and psychological theory, which continues to inform his counseling approach. His education has supported his ability to build rapport, communicate effectively, and apply ethical and professional standards in clinical settings.
