Krista A. Sommers, BSN, RN
Krista Sommers is a dedicated registered nurse, entrepreneur, and advocate for women’s health with more than 27 years of nursing experience. Based in Edmond, Oklahoma, she is the founder of RN-ARC Home Healthcare PLLC, a practice focused on postpartum care, urogynecology, and postpartum mental health support. Throughout her career, Krista has remained deeply committed to patient-centered care, combining compassion, advocacy, and clinical expertise to support women and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.
Krista began her nursing career in California, where she spent many years caring for postpartum, NICU, pediatric, and women’s health patients. She served for over four years at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, specializing in case management and discharge planning while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. In 2021, guided by faith and a desire for personal growth, she returned to school at the age of 50 to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University. She graduated with honors in 2022 on her 52nd birthday and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing for her academic excellence and dedication to the profession.
After relocating from California to Oklahoma with her husband, Krista joined Mercy Clinic, where her work alongside physicians further inspired her vision to create her own healthcare practice dedicated to supporting mothers and families. Today, she is actively involved in Oklahoma’s perinatal care community, participating in Oklahoma Perinatal Quality Improvement meetings and partnering with the Potawatomie Nation to provide education and resources surrounding postpartum care and mental health. Passionate about making lasting change, Krista is currently working toward her long-term dream of building a community-based nonprofit intensive outpatient therapy center for women experiencing postpartum mental health challenges, allowing mothers to receive care without being separated from their newborns. She is also writing a book chronicling her personal and professional journey, with the hope of inspiring others to follow their calling and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those they serve.
