Dr. Kestutis Griciunas
Dr. Kestutis Griciunas is a highly experienced orthopedic surgeon with more than 27 years of clinical and surgical practice in Lithuania. He is a compassionate and dedicated medical professional who has built his career around improving patient outcomes, particularly in trauma care and orthopedic rehabilitation. Currently based in Carmel, he continues to seek opportunities within the U.S. healthcare system where he can contribute his extensive medical knowledge and commitment to patient-centered care.
Dr. Griciunas earned his medical degree from Riga Medical University, where he completed his training in medicine and developed a strong foundation in surgical practice. His early inspiration to pursue surgery came from a childhood experience that sparked a lifelong dedication to saving and improving lives. After completing his medical education in 1989, he began his professional journey in orthopedic surgery, where he spent decades refining his expertise in musculoskeletal care and surgical intervention.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Griciunas expanded his professional experience into the medical device and healthcare industry. He worked with leading companies such as Johnson & Johnson and other orthopedic equipment providers, where he was involved in presenting and supporting surgical tools and devices used in hospitals. This experience gave him a broader understanding of surgical innovation, healthcare systems, and the practical application of orthopedic technologies in patient care.
Since relocating to the United States in 2017 and settling in Indiana in 2018, Dr. Griciunas has been adapting to a new healthcare system while continuing to work in patient care support roles in long-term and senior care settings. He is multilingual, fluent in Lithuanian, Latvian, Russian, and English, which allows him to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations. His adaptability, strong work ethic, and international experience continue to define his professional journey as he seeks to re-enter the medical field in roles aligned with his surgical background.
Throughout his career, Dr. Griciunas has remained committed to lifelong learning, teamwork, and patient well-being. He is known for his resilience, humility, and willingness to take on new challenges, including additional training to meet U.S. healthcare standards. What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is helping people and witnessing their recovery and progress, especially after surgery. Seeing patients improve, regain mobility, and return to their daily lives is deeply rewarding and continues to motivate my commitment to healthcare.
