He began his academic journey in India, where he earned a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). During his undergraduate years, he actively engaged in leadership and research-related initiatives, serving as an organizer, anchor, and team lead across multiple academic and cultural platforms, including Gravitas Tech Fest, Riviera Cultural Fest, and various innovation and technical events. These early experiences strengthened his foundation in scientific inquiry, communication, and collaborative leadership.

Dr. Lakhotiya later pursued a Master’s degree in Engineering/Industrial Management at Tufts University Gordon Institute, where he developed expertise in leadership, strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and technology commercialization. His training emphasized business strategy, financial analysis, product development, and innovation management, equipping him with a multidisciplinary perspective at the intersection of science, engineering, and enterprise.

Professionally, he has gained diverse experience across leading global institutions, including a radiation oncology fellowship at Mayo Clinic and research exposure at the Center for Stem Cell Research in India. He has also been involved in venture development and healthcare innovation initiatives, including a Venture Fellow Program with 1752 VC and multiple fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic focused on business development innovation and venture diligence. His work has brought him into collaboration with executive leadership teams, contributing to strategic discussions on biopharmaceutical expansion and healthcare innovation.

As a recognized researcher, Dr. Lakhotiya has received multiple honors, including awards from the American Society of Hematology and institutional research grants supporting his work in oncology. His publications include studies on microRNA prognostic significance in colorectal cancer and lymph node ratio in oncology outcomes. Motivated by his personal experience as a leukemia survivor, he brings a deeply empathetic and purpose-driven approach to cancer research, while actively advancing his work as a scientist, innovator, and emerging entrepreneur in the biomedical field.

In addition to his academic and research achievements, Dr. Lakhotiya has developed strong capabilities in venture capital, healthcare innovation, and technology commercialization through advanced certifications and fellowships. He has completed training in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt methodology, project management through Google and Coursera programs, and a Leadership in Global Healthcare Virtual Experience Program. He also serves as a Venture Fellow with 1752 VC, where he applies his expertise in due diligence, venture financing, and technology transfer to evaluate and support emerging healthcare innovations. These experiences further strengthen his ability to bridge the gap between scientific discovery, clinical application, and scalable healthcare solutions.
