Joshua Davenport, RN
Joshua Davenport, RN, brings 25 years of healthcare experience, beginning his career at age 18 as a hospital transporter before advancing to ER technician and ultimately becoming a registered nurse in 2009. Over the course of his career, he has built a strong foundation in emergency medicine, supported by his early exposure to hospital operations and hands-on patient care. His sister, also a nurse, played an important role in helping him secure his first hospital position, which ultimately led him to discover his passion for the emergency department, where he has worked for most of his career.
After becoming an RN, Joshua spent approximately a decade as a travel nurse, primarily working in California during the COVID-19 pandemic. This period of high-intensity clinical work further strengthened his emergency nursing expertise but also led to burnout, prompting him to seek a more balanced professional environment. In 2026, he transitioned into an occupational health role at General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky, where he now provides on-site medical care and emergency response for factory employees in a workplace setting.
Joshua is a graduate of Galen College of Nursing in Louisville, where he completed an accelerated, year-round nursing program. He holds certifications in BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Known for his curiosity and commitment to understanding the underlying “why” behind clinical decisions, he is now focused on long-term professional growth. He plans to pursue his BSN and ultimately his Nurse Practitioner degree within the next five years, continuing his dedication to lifelong learning and advancement in patient care.
