Joseph Taylor, RN
Joseph Taylor is a highly experienced Registered Nurse based in Los Angeles with more than three decades of clinical experience across critical care, nephrology, and care coordination. He began his nursing career after receiving his initial RN training through the Los Angeles County School of Nursing and completing clinical education at a Level 1 trauma center. Over the years, he has developed extensive expertise in telemetry, cardiovascular intensive care, hemodialysis, transplant support, and vascular access management, building a strong foundation in both acute and long-term patient care.
Throughout his career, Joseph has held a long-standing position with Kaiser Permanente, where he worked in critical care units including CCU and later transitioned into nephrology-focused case management. His experience also includes military service as a critical care nurse in the United States Army, where he provided care to wounded service members, including trauma and burn patients returning from deployment. In addition to his hospital-based roles, he has served as a mentor to nursing students and aspiring healthcare professionals, supporting the next generation of clinicians through education and guidance.
Joseph’s career reflects a deep commitment to patient advocacy, clinical excellence, and service in high-acuity environments. After years of hands-on critical care and specialized nephrology work, he transitioned into case management, where he spent a decade coordinating complex patient care plans. Following a brief career pause due to personal health and surgery, he is now seeking to re-enter the workforce in case management or travel nursing roles. His extensive background, leadership in emergency situations, and dedication to patient outcomes continue to define his professional reputation in the nursing field.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I really loved nursing and liked it a lot. I loved helping people and seeing them get better, which was very rewarding. Working in the CCU at Kaiser was particularly rewarding for me. I was also kind of an adrenaline jockey, so when there was a code or whatever, I was the first one on the scene. That excitement and the ability to make a real difference in critical moments was something I truly enjoyed about the work.
