Dr. Jessica W. Grayson, MD
Dr. Jessica W. Grayson is a board-certified otolaryngologist and fellowship-trained rhinologist specializing in anterior skull base surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She practices within a leading academic medical center where she is dedicated to managing complex sinonasal disorders, skull base tumors, skull base trauma, and advanced reconstructive cases, often in close collaboration with neurosurgical colleagues.
She currently serves in multiple leadership roles at UAB, including Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs, Department Value Officer, Medical Director of the Otolaryngology Clinic, Co-Director of the Division of Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery, and Director of Clinical Research. Through these positions, she plays a central role in advancing clinical operations, improving departmental value, and shaping research initiatives within the Department of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Grayson completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine in 2013, followed by residency training in Otolaryngology at UAB in 2018. She then pursued advanced fellowship training in Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery in Sydney, Australia, further refining her expertise in complex sinus and skull base disease management.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Grayson is an accomplished academic surgeon with over 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. She is actively engaged in medical education, lecturing and teaching at local, national, and international levels, and participates in major conferences and specialized surgical courses worldwide multiple times each year. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and maintains active membership in leading professional organizations, including the American Rhinologic Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Grayson is deeply committed to her community and the advancement of future physicians. She supports resident-led research initiatives at UAB and contributes to organizations dedicated to assisting battered women and children.
