Jennifer M. Parsons, DNP, MSN, FNP-C
Jennifer M. Parsons is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with extensive experience in family medicine, addiction treatment, and comprehensive substance use disorder care. She currently practices with the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) in Ketchikan, Alaska, where she works in an outpatient opioid treatment program focused on methadone services, detox support, and long-term recovery care. She also provides weekend telehealth services for patients in detox through Spokane Falls Recovery in Washington, ensuring continuity of care for individuals in early recovery.
Jennifer began her healthcare journey at 19 as a nursing assistant before returning to formal education in 2010. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Central Wyoming College in 2012 and began practicing as a registered nurse shortly after. She later completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through Western Governors University in 2015, building a strong foundation in clinical care across outpatient settings, nursing homes, and internal medicine.
Driven by a deep commitment to patient advocacy and long-term healing, Jennifer pursued advanced practice nursing at United States University in San Diego, California, where she completed her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2022. She transitioned into nurse practitioner practice with a strong focus on addiction medicine, where she has spent over seven years specializing in opioid use disorder treatment, including medication-assisted treatment and recovery support services.
In 2023, Jennifer expanded her clinical impact by relocating to Alaska to join SEARHC, where she continues to serve diverse patient populations with a focus on compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based care. She is committed to shared decision-making and empowering patients to actively participate in their health journey. Her approach emphasizes respect, dignity, and recognizing the unique needs of every individual.
Jennifer completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Arkansas State University in 2026 and was honored with membership in the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and is currently considering dual certification in psychiatric mental health to further expand her ability to support patients facing complex addiction and mental health challenges. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys traveling, fishing, camping, hunting, and cooking, and values time with her spouse John, her Labrador Kimber, and her three adult sons and two granddaughters.
