Beginning her nursing journey with a vocational nursing certificate from Grand Rapids Educational Center, Jamie earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Everest College-Fort Worth and later completed her BSN at Western Governors University. She is MedSurge certified and currently pursuing a master’s degree in nursing leadership at WGU, with plans to advance as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Driven by a lifelong desire to help others, Jamie’s path into nursing was inspired by caring for her grandmother and stepfather during her youth. She emphasizes compassion, clinical excellence, and mentorship, aiming to show her children—and others—that dedication and hard work can make dreams achievable, regardless of when one begins higher education. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I've always wanted to help people. As I was growing up and helping my grandmother and then my stepfather, I figured that nursing would be a great way for me to help others. That's what really drew me to this field and what continues to drive me.
